Ak-Con Uses

As a decongestant, Ak-Con is prescribed to reduce soreness, burning, discomfort, and dryness inside the eye that comes as a result of exposure to wind, sun, and other irritants. Thus, Ak-Con is used to momentarily release redness, puffiness, burning, and watering in the eyes, which is commonly caused by allergies. Ak-Con works by causing contraction or narrowing of blood vessels within the eyes. Additionally, Ak-Con blocks certain natural occurring substances in the body known as histamines which bring about allergic symptoms. By so doing, Ak-Con lessens itching and irritation in the eyes.

The following list contains the different types of eye reactions that Ak-Con relieves:

  • Redness
  • Burning
