Xeloda Uses

Xeloda is to treat cancer, however it is most commonly called upon for breast and colon cancer. Xeloda works by decreasing the size of the tumor so that the cancerous cells can no longer grow or spread to other other areas.

Xeloda Dosage

Xeloda dosage is completely dependent on the individual that takes it, as it can be used for a variety of conditions. Note that the amount of Xeloda you take also depends on the age of the individual. In addition to that the amount of Xeloda you take also depends on the strength of each pill/tablet and the amount of times you plan on taking the pill/tablet a day. Note that Xeloda also depends on the type of condition you are treating.

Xeloda dosage to treat deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

  • For adults, begin the dosage at 15mg. This dosage should be taken two times a day with food for a period of 21 days. Following that period, your doctor may increase your dosage to just 20mg a day.
  • For children, usage and dosage should be determined by a doctor's consultation.

Xeloda dosage to treat breast and colon cancer.

  • For adults, the dosage is based on the patient's body size. However usually, the dosage is 2500mg per square meter of the person's body. This dosage should also be taken 12 hours apart in 2 divided portions. This dosage should be taken for 2 weeks, followed by 1 week rest period as part of a 3 week cycle.
  • For children, usage and dosage should be determined by a doctor's consultation.

Xeloda dosage for patients also taking docetaxel.

  • For adults, the dosage is based on the patient's body size. However usually, the dosage is 2500mg per square meter of the person's body.
