Virazole is a broad spectrum antiviral that is used in the treatment of severe infection of the lungs and other lower respiratory tract infections. Virazole is also used in treatment of the following lower respiratory tract infections:
- A Type of Flu - Influenza A
- A Type of Flu - Influenza B
- Infection caused by Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus
- Infection caused by the Rift Valley Fever Virus
- Severe Infection caused by Rodent-Borne Viruses
- Severe Infection caused by the Lassa Virus
- Respiratory Syncytial
- Viral Infection of Respiratory Tract
Virazole is an antiviral drug and its treatment is administered on infants and children who are in the hospital under the care of professional physicians.
Virazole medication is in the form of powder for inhalation solution and should be administered exactly as prescribed by your physician. Dosage may vary depending on the individual's previous medical conditions, current health status and also on how the patient responds to the Virazole medication.
- The recommended dosage of Virazole medication is 20 mg/mL as the start dosage and thereafter the patient should continue with the aerosol administration for 12-18 hours every day for 3 to 7 days maximum.
- Virazole medication is not recommended for adults.
