Temodar, when combined with radiation therapy, is used to treat particular types of brain cancers. By slowing down the the cancerous cells from multiplying, Temodar can help stop the growth and spread of the cancer.

Temodar Dosage

Temodar dosage is completely dependent on the individual that takes it, as it can be used for a variety of conditions. Note that the amount of Temodar you take also depends on the age of the individual. As Temodar is an IV treatment, your doctor will prescribe and oversee the correct amount of Temodar for your personal use. An average prescription of Temodar is below.

Temodar dosage to treat glioblastoma

  • For adults, the dosage based on the patient's body size. However, usually, the dosage is 75mg per square meter of the person's size. This dosage should come as a single dose for 42 days. This treatment should be given in combination with radiation therapy followed by maintenance treatment for a period of 6 cycles.
  • For children, usage and dosage should be determined by a doctor's consultation.

Temodar dosage to treat anaplastic astrocytoma

  • For adults, the dosage based on the patient's body size. However, usually, the dosage is 150mg per square meter of the person's size. This dosage should occur once a day for 5 days, then there is a stoppage period of 23 days. This dosage should then be repeated every 28 days for a period of up to 2 years.
  • For children, usage and dosage should be determined by a doctor's consultation.
