Ortho Tri-Cyclen Dosage

Ortho Tri-Cyclen should be taken as prescribed by the physician. The pills should be taken daily after every 24 hours. A pack of Ortho Tri-Cyclen contains 28 pills. 21 pills are the active medication while 7 reminder pills have no medicine in them. The typical dosage of Ortho Tri-Cyclen for adults is as follows:

  • Sunday Start: take one white active tablet, the first Sunday after your menstruation starts. This should be done even if you are still experiencing your period
  • You should then take one dark blue, white or light blue active tablet pill every day for the next 21 days
  • Then take 1 dark green reminder tablet for the next 7 days
  • After exhausting all the 28 tablets, you should start a new packet the next day
