Orap, or pimozide, is a prescription medication in the miscellaneous antipsychotic agent drug class. Orap when used will treat muscle tics, speech tics, and some of the symptoms of Tourette syndrome. Orap is normally only used when other medications fail to treat the symptoms of Tourette syndrome. Orap is most commonly found in a capsule, which must be taken orally. It is important to note that one must not drink grapefruit juice while taking Orap, because the acidity of the grapefruit juice will affect the medication, and in turn, the effect on the body. Other foods can be ingested with Orap.
